Officials Nab 5 over Robbery Extortion in Kabul
KABUL, Afghanistan – Afghan National Police (ANP) arrested a group of three members suspected of armed robberies in Police District 6 (PD6) of Kabul city, said the Ministry of Interior Affairs in a statement Monday morning.
Officials did not provide further details on the identify of suspects and charges they bear, but said two further “armed robbers” were jailed for “snatching mobile phones” in Police District 1 (PD1) of the capital city.
“In the meantime, two armed robbers were arrested for snatching mobile phones in PD#1 of Kabul City. ANP recovered 37 stolen cell phones from the arrested,” the tweet added.
Earlier, #Afghan_National_Police (ANP) carried a series of operation in western province of Herat, said the Ministry of Interior Affairs in a statement Monday, arresting at least 11 suspects charged with multiple criminal offenses.
The operation came at a time the government has strengthened its security measures against all types of criminal offenses, including #robbery_extortion and drug trafficking throughout Afghanistan.
