Young Afghan Returns Home-Country to Join National Army: MoD
KABUL, Afghanistan – Abdul Waheed, a young Afghan, has returned home-country from Netherlands to join Afghan National Army, the Ministry of Defense said in a statement Monday.
According to the statement, Waheed aspires to “protect Afghanistan and defend lives” of people in his abilities as a new member of defense forces in the frontline.
“Abdul Waheed says that the purpose of his return to Afghanistan is to join ANA and he is ready to fight terrorist in every part of AFG,” the tweet added.
Meanwhile, in a news from province in North Afghanistan, at least five Taliban were killed and further three were wounded, according to the statement.
“5 Taliban were killed and 3 others were wounded after they attacked ANDSF positions in Balkh district of Balkh Prov. Yesterday,” according to statement by MoD.
During the operation, “an IED which was placed on public road in the district was discovered and defused by ANA.”
