9 Busted over Drug Trafficking in Kabul, Provinces

Afghanistan – At least nine suspects were arrested over drag trafficking charges after the Counter Narcotic Police of Afghanistan carried several operations in Kabul and provinces, the Ministry of Interior Affairs said Sunday.

According to the ministry, the suspects were arrested in various operations in Daykundi, Parwan, Nimroz and Kabul provinces, where officials seized some amount of drugs as well.

Nine drug dealers detained following several separate Counter-Narcotics operations carried out by CNPA in Daikundi, Parwan, Nimruz & Kabul provinces,” said MoIA in a tweet. “Some amount of illicit drugs were also seized from the arrested.”

The arrest came at a time officials tightens security measures throughout Afghanistan following widespread concerns over growing drug trafficking, arm robberies and kidnapping.
