The communication companies fined 2-to-100 millions Afghanis

The unregistered cell phones have been used to plan kidnapping, robbery, suicide attacks and annoying people.

The communication companies due to not registering the SIMs were fined 2 to 100 millions Afghanis by the ministry of communication and the information technology.

To offer easy services to their subscribers, one governmental and four private telephone companies working in Afghanistan sell their SIMs without registering.

The unregistered cell phones have been used to plan kidnapping, robbery, suicide attacks and annoying people.  

The private telephone companies have not done in line with their commitment after they sold unregistered SIMs said engineer Fezi Khei Muhammad, the deputy of the ministry of communication and information technology office, in a press conference.

A 3 months time period are fixed for the companies to inactivate unregistered SIMs.

The law breaker companies will be fined 2 to 100 million Afghanis by the relevant ministry he warned.

Since the communicative companies, the ministry of communication and information technology and the country security organizations signed an agreement of registering SIMs, hundreds and hundreds of unregistered SIMs has been sold.
