8 Afghan soldiers killed or injured during operations

At least 1 soldier was killed and 7 others were injured during operations at Parwan, Paktia, Maidan Wardak and Helmand provinces.

At least 8 Afghan national army soldiers were killed or injured while conducting military operations during the past 24 hours, Afghan defense ministry officials said.

The officials following a statement on Monday said at least 1 soldier was killed and 7 others were injured during operations at Parwan, Paktia, Maidan Wardak and Helmand provinces of Afghanistan.

Afghan security forces also seized some weapons, ammunitions and explosives during the operations, official said.

In the meantime Afghan Interior Ministry following a statement on Monday announced at least 5 Taliban militants were killed during military operations conducted by Afghan national police forces during the past 24 hours.

The statement further added the operations were conducted in conjunction with the Afghan national army, Afghan intelligence and coalition security forces at Kabul, Parwan, Kandahar, Helmand and Zabul provinces of Afghanistan.

Afghan police forces also detained 14 suspected militants and seized some weapons, ammunitions and explosives during the operations, interior ministry officials said.

Anti-government armed militant groups yet to comment regarding the reports.
