Peace consultations will restart soon after election: Ghani
Addressing a campaign gathering in Kabul, Ghani said that “we are ready to allow Taliban participation, but not mastership.”
“Afghans won’t accept anyone’s mastership by force,” Ghani said.
He said that Afghanistan would remain republic and rejected the idea of forming an interim government.
Asked by a supporter if he would again share power with Abdullah Abdullah, another candidate who is currently chief executive of the National Unity Government, Ghani said he won’t do it this time.
Ghani suggested that Abdullah was troublemaker, and that he had shared power with him to prevent war.
Meanwhile, Abdullah’s aides said that his team was fully ready for the upcoming election which is scheduled to be held on September 28.
Ali Ahmad Osmani, Abdullah’s campaign manager, said that they have certain strategies to prevent fraud in the election.
