Malaysia to withdraw troops from Saudi Arabia

AVA- Mohamad, popularly known as Mat Sabu, said the decision was made last week.
“We will discuss with the foreign ministry on when to bring them back,” he told a group interview with the media at his ministry here today.
On June 20, the government said it would review the stationing of Malaysian troops in Saudi Arabia.
Mohamad said the presence of Malaysian troops, who were stationed there by the previous government, had caused the country to be indirectly dragged into the Middle East conflict.
“Malaysia has always adopted a neutral policy and does not favour any political ideology of the world’s major powers,” he said.
