Five Kidnappers Hanged to Death In Kabul

AVA-  Five members of a kidnapping group who were arrested in Herat province and incarcerated at Pul-e-Charkhi prison in Kabul were hanged to death early Wednesday morning.

The General Directorate of Prisons and Detention Centers of the Ministry of Interior (MoI) confirmed this in a statement Wednesday.

President Ashraf Ghani issued the death sentence of the convicted prisoners who had been involved in kidnapping and murder. The decree was signed in the presence of judicial representatives, the statement read.

According to the MoI, one of the prisoners had been a member of Herat provincial council. He was also hanged Wednesday.

The statement said the group had been involved in the kidnapping and murder of Mohammad Shah Aymaq, son of Haji Abdul Baqi, who is the deputy head of a construction company. The group had also been involved in other illegal activities.
