An adult woman's dead body has been found outside of her home in a trouble condition in Taloqan, the capital of north-eastern Takhar province, police said Thursday.
Afghan Voice Agency(AVA),The provincial police’s spokesman said the initial assessments show that the woman was dead due to suffocation, adding that her dead body is currently in a local hospital.
Police said the investigation is underway to arrest the involved culprits.
It comes as local officials have reportedly criticized the government for not paying attention to the protection of women’s rights in remote and rural areas of the Takhar.
