Pakistan Rejects Trump’s Allegation of Terrorist Support
Pakistan officially responded to U.S. President Donald Trump’s allegations of terrorists’ ‘safe havens’ in Pakistan, saying the country has been taking actions against all type of militant groups without any discrimination.

AVA- “Pakistan does not allow use of its territory against any country. Instead of relying on the false narrative of safe havens, the US needs to work with Pakistan to eradicate terrorism,” Pakistani Foreign Office (FO) said in a statement.

The Pakistani FO said it is “disappointing that the US policy statement ignores the enormous sacrifices rendered by the Pakistani nation” in the fight against terrorism.

“The policy ignores the enormous sacrifices rendered by the Pakistani nation”, it said.

“No country in the world has suffered more than Pakistan from the scourge of terrorism, often perpetrated from outside our borders. It is, therefore disappointing that the US policy statement ignores the enormous sacrifices rendered by the Pakistani nation in this effort,” statement said.

Responding to Trump’s name for extra US troops in Afghanistan, the Pakistani FO reiterated Pakistan’s view that there’s “no unique army answer to the disaster in Afghanistan”.

“The army motion over the past ۱۷ years has not introduced peace to Afghanistan, and it isn’t possible to take action sooner or later. Solely an Afghan-led, Afghan-owned, politically-negotiated answer can result in sustainable peace in Afghanistan,” the FO handout learn.

Trump criticized Pakistan during a much anticipated national address on Monday in which announced a new strategy on the United States´ involvement in Afghanistan.

“We have been paying Pakistan billions and billions of dollars at the same time they are housing the very terrorists that we are fighting,” Trump said.

“That will have to change and that will change immediately.”

This comes as that China backs Pakistan after Trump’s warning on terror safe havens.

“(On) President Trump’s remarks on Pakistan, I should say that Pakistan is at the frontline of fighting terrorism, has made sacrifices in fighting terrorism, making an important contribution to upholding peace and stability,” Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesperson, Ms. Hua said, strongly defending Beijing’s all-weather friend.

Ms. Hua, in response to Trump’s scathing criticism of Pakistan’s support to terror groups, said, “I think the international community should truly affirm” the efforts by Pakistan in combating terrorism.

“We are pleased to see US and Pakistan to conduct cooperation in anti-terrorism efforts on the basis of mutual respect and contribute to the global peace and stability,” she said.

In his speech, Mr. Trump slammed Islamabad for harbouring militants who target US service members.
