Pentagon new contract worth $12.5 million approved for Afghan forces
The United States Department of Defense or Pentagon informed regarding a new contract approved for the Afghan National Defense and Security Forces.

AVA- The new contract has been approved as part of the foreign military sales to boost the intelligence and surveillance capabilities of the Afghan forces.

“Integrated Microwave Technology LLC,* Hackettstown, New Jersey, has been awarded a $12,583,035 firm-fixed-price, foreign military sales (Afghanistan) contract for the purchase of hand-held intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance receiver devices,” Pentagon said in a statement.

The statement further added that work locations and funding will be determined with each order, with an estimated completion date of Sept. 24, 2020.

This comes as the Afghan government with the support of its international allies and NATO has stepped up efforts to boost the capabilities of Afghan national defense and security forces, particularly the Afghan Air Force.

The Afghan National Defense and Security Forces received new batch of weapons and ammunition last month while the Afghan Air Force received the first batch of Black Hawk helicopters from in September.

The Afghan officials are saying that the Afghan forces will start the next fighting season with offensive approach to suppress the militants in an imposed war and subsequently force them to participate in peace talks.
