AVA- Two days ago Kohistan district was fallen under Taliban control and this group of ANA soldiers which includes 30 Special Forces, claims that central government did not send supportive forces to rescue them.
“our base is surrounded by the residential area which is under enemies's control. We contacted defense minister and other officials, but we did not yet receive any support’ said Samiullah one of the soldiers in the base.
He added that most of the enemies are Afghan Local Police (ALP) forces who have joined Taliban last night.
Abdul Karim Yourish, spokesperson of Faryab police, confirmed ALP surrender to Taliban and added: “last night 130 ALP forces under the command of Mohammad Nasir joined Taliban with all their arms”.
He said that they are helpless because they did not have air forces, but now local government gathered hundreds of ALP and security forces to send in the area to end the siege.
Shah Hussain Murtazawi, acting spokesperson for the palace said in a press conference that supportive security forces have been sent to the area and other places where they were needed.
“The situation in Faryab is dangerous and there is lack of cooperation between local forces and central government that causes fall of some districts,” said Bashir Ahmad Tayenj Parliament member for Faryab province.
Some of the residents of Faryab also blame the government for the insecurity and ask for securing their province.
