Afghan forces kill 5 insurgents
Afghanistan interior ministry said Tuesday police in cooperation with army and intelligence personnel succeeded to kill five insurgents and wounded four others over the last 24 hours of clearance operation in some provinces of the country. 

“The operations were conducted in Kunar, Nangarhar, Kapisa, Kunduz, Kandahar, Uruzgan, Maidan Wardak, Logar, Ghazni, Paktika, Paktiya and Herat provinces, as a result five armed Taliban members were killed, four wounded and 18 others were arrested by Afghan National Security Forces”, the ministry said in a statement. 

Referring to its website, the ministry added during the operation, Afghan National Police discovered and confiscated light and heavy rounds ammunition and IEDs.. 

Police discovered and defused 46 different types of IEDs placed by enemies of Afghanistan for destructive activities in Nangarhar, Daikundi, Kandahar, Uruzgan, Ghazni, Khost and Helmand provinces, the ministry concluded. 

The rebels including the Taliban had not commented on the statement.
