The US Central Command (CENTCOM) commander General Joseph L. Votel reaffirmed Washington and NATO’s continued support to the Afghan National Defense and Security Forces (ANDSF) and the Afghan Air Force.

AVA- The Ministry of Defense of Afghanistan (MoD) in a statement said Gen. Votel reaffirmed the commitment to the Afghan forces during a meeting with the Afghan armed forces chief of staff Gen. Mohammad Sharif Yaftali.
The statement further added that the two sides discussed the security situation of Afghanistan and the region, training and equipping the Afghan security forces and Air Forces.
Thanking the United States and the international community for their comprehensive support to Afghanistan, Gen. Yaftali said the Afghan forces managed to thwart all destructive plans of the militants, highlighting the successful implementation and conclsuion of Khalid operations.
In his turn, Gen. Votel hailed the Afghan security forces for their bravery and devotion in the fight against terrorism.
The Ministry of Defense says Gen. Votel reaffirmed the US and NATO support to continue providing training and equipment to the Afghan forces, particularly the Afghan commandos and Air Forces.
The commander of the Resolute Support Mission and US forces in Afghanistan Gen. John Nicholson was also present in the meeting.
