Afghan President Ashraf Ghani has introduced nominees for two ministerial portfolios – transport and frontiers.

AVA- In two separate decrees issued Tuesday, the president has nominated Mohammad Hameed Tahmasi as minister of transport and civil aviation and Mohammad Shafiq Gul Agha Sherzai as minister of frontiers and tribal affairs.
The nominees are expected to be introduced in the parliament for approval.
Tahmasi has acted as deputy interior minister while Sherzai was longtime governor of eastern Nangarhar province.
The minister of transport Mohammadullah Batash was one of the seven ministers to be sacked by the parliament late last year.
The Ministry of Frontiers and Tribal Affairs has been run by caretaker Abdul Ghafoor Lewal after minister Gulab Mangal was shifted to govern Nangarhar province.
In a separate decree, President Ghani has appointed Fazlullah Mujaddidi as new governor of northern Takhar province.
