AVA- Abdul Mannan was hit by bullet during a battle in Dara-e-Sof district of Samangan. He lost huge amount of blood as a result and there was only 5 percent chance of his survival, according to a statement from Interior Ministry.
The victim was transferred to 300-bed police hospital for treatment.
“When my brother was hit in his head and we took him to Kabul, we didn’t think that he would get well, we were thinking about his coffin,” his brother said.
In the hospital, doctors in neurology department cut 15-centimeter bone from the patient’s head before keeping it in his stomach. After six months, they removed it from the stomach to place in the head.
