Turkish troops distribute 20,000 kg mutton to Afghans
Turkish troops based in Afghanistan's Wardak province distributed 20 tons mutton to local needy people, a local newspaper reported Monday.
"Turkish forces\' Provincial Reconstruction Team (PRT) based in Wardak province had bought 170 cattle animals and after slaughtering distributed it 20,000 kg mutton to 5,000 poor and needy families, said daily Afghanistan.

The assistance took place Saturday to mark Eidul Adha the biggest Muslims\' annual religious festival.

As a religious ritual, Muslims on day of Eidul Adha scarify animals and distribute the meat to poor people.

More than 800 Turkish soldiers have been serving in Afghanistan within the framework of NATO-led International Security Assistance Force (ISAF) to strengthen peace in the militancy-plagued country.
