Germany deports 8 Afghans convicted various crimes including rape

Afghan Voice Agency(AVA) , 14 Sep 2017 - 8:54

The government of Germany has deported a group of at least eight Afghans convicted of various crimes including rape incidents.

AVA- The minister of interior for Germany’s Bavaria state Joachim Herrmann informed regarding the expulsion of the Afghan asylum seekers to Kabul today.

According to Herrmann, the men were convicted of various crimes including rape incidents with at least two of them being involved in the assault.

This comes as Germany had stopped the deportation process of the failed asylum seekers nearly four months ago.

The decision to halt the process was apparently taken after a deadly explosion rocked Kabul city late n May this year that left more than 150 people dead and hundreds more wounded.

Several other deadly explosions also took place after the incident including a deadly attack on a funeral in the city few days later, forcing the majority of the European countries to halt the deportation of the asylum seekers.

Hundreds of thousands of Afghans left for Europe last year amid deteriorating security situation in the country.

Scores of the migrants lost their lives on the way to Europe by going through the most dangerous routes, including the Iranian land route and the Turkish waters.

Germany started the deportation process of the rejected asylum seekers in mid-December last year amid reports that the country is due to send back 11,900 migrants back to Afghanistan.
