Afghan Voice Agency (AVA), Kabul , 29 May 2013 - 17:44

Deferent outside-inside social and civil organizations and associations took different position toward the elimination violence against women law having been passed by Karzai with a presidential decree after the parliament failed to ratify it.

"The reason behind the disapproval was it's being against Islamic Laws, Sharia," the parliament believes while pro-women right organizations and activists have sought implementation without any adjustment.

Elimination violence against women was passed in 2009 by Karzai with a presidential decree.

"Afghanistan Muslim people neither accept violence against women nor anti-Islamic laws." said Hojjat-ol-Islam-Val-Moslemin Alemi Abdolghader, the Kabul west Friday prayer Imam.
Constitutionally, the EVAW without adjustment is disapproved he added.

"Khanehamn, safe houses, aged marriage, reducing parent's influences in families and multi-wives" were what against Islamic Laws in EVAW in the disagreeing MPs opinion.

"Afghanistan religious belief rejects violence against women." said Hashemi Seyyed Heidar, Mazar-e-Sharif Friday praying Imam

Immoralities and crime rate increase if the EVAW is approved without adjustment he added.

If the parliament fails to adjust it, Ulama need to role their sleeves to cross anti-Islam items off it Hashemi Seyyed Heidar added.
