The massive fire engulfed a 14-story apartment in Valencia's Campanar neighborhood and spread to an adjacent building.

The local media of Valencia consider this fire to be the biggest fire in the history of the city, which left 5 people dead and at least 19 people missing.

The fire started the day before on the fifth floor of one of the houses and quickly flared up.

The mayor of Valencia, María José Catala, announced three days of public mourning following the incident.
